Crocodile

The Toledo Zoo

About The Project

When the Toledo Zoo acquired a 17 foot long Saltwater Crocodile from Australia a realistic enclosure needed to be built. The Zoo asked GD+B to sculpt and color all of the concrete in the exhibit to resemble a realistic Australian river bank. Soon after, GD+B created a realistic sculpture to the same size specifications as the real newly acquired crocodile that is currently the largest on display in the U.S. Every scale and wrinkle was individually sculpted by hand, and made to withstand daily public interaction and mother nature.
