About the Project
During the total renovation of the Magee Marsh Visitor Center in 2022, Graphite Design + Build worked with Ohio Department of Natural Resources and local architects and construction companies to re-design the interior of the building. The design includes dioramas, maps, interactive elements, and educational signage that highlight the past, present, and future of northwest Ohio’s wetlands.
The second floor of the center focuses on hunting and decoy carving heritage. The decoy carving diorama features an example of a decoy carver’s studio space where he would have perfected his craft. The diorama includes a sculpted mannequin and found objects to bring the room to life.
The hunting display includes an old punt boat used for hunting, surrounded by signage about hunting in the area and a display case for retired hunting guns.
Special thanks to Anthony Tscherne for providing photos of the project.
